North Carolina auto insurance laws require you to take the liability insurance covers. All vehicles registered in the North Carolina state must remain covered by the liability insurance cover until the registration is cancelled. If the coverage lapses DMV sends a notice, Form FS 5-7, to which you need to, respond within 10 days of receiving the notice. You need to fill $50 and get your cover recertifies in 10 days. If you fail to do so, you may lose your license plate in next 30 days.
